This report discusses current and historic vegetable consumption in the UK (no higher now than in the 1970s), the importance of vegetables in the diet and current drivers of vegetable consumption.
The report was released in the context of the launch of the UK NGO Food Foundation’s campaign ‘Peas Please’, an initiative focused specifically on encouraging vegetable consumption. Peas Please aims to bring together farmers, retailers, fast food and restaurant chains, caterers, processors and government departments to work towards a common goal of making it easier for everyone to eat vegetables.
