This report by WRAP provides estimates for total and avoidable household food waste for 2014 and 2015, for the UK and compares this to previous findings.
WRAP identifies two key points:
1. The estimated amount of household food waste in the UK for 2015 was 7.3 million tonnes.
2. Overall there has been no statistically significant change in the estimated levels of household food waste between 2012 and 2015.
This stands in contrast with the findings in their last study, in 2013, which looked at trends in earlier years (between 2007 and 2012) in which a reduction of 15% and 21% in total and avoidable household food waste occurred respectively.
