World Transport Policy and Practice, attached below, is a very useful source of information on global transport policy in general. Volume 10 no.3, attached below, focuses specifically on freight transport and logistics.
Of particular interest is the following paper: Fresh salmon from Norway to Japan - a case study of a global supply chain by Tina Petersen & Lise Drewes Nielsen. This takes a close look at the transport decision-making which contributes to the indirect route taken by the salmon on its journey from Norway to Japan.
