This paper focuses on climate change particularly in Brazil, exploring the main cause of GHG emissions in this region (agriculture and deforestation) and highlighting the potential impacts of climate change on agricultural productivity. It then examines some of the mitigation approaches. It begins with a review of the literature on minimum-tillage methods and then goes on to look at the role of sugar cane production as well as cattle pasture management as mitigation approaches.
