Tesco published its 2009 CSR report in early 2009. The climate change section sets out the company'ss progress to achieving its targets and quantifies the company's overall direct global carbon footprint.
This was 4.9 million tonnes of CO2e in 2008, of which 54% came from the UK. Absolute emissions have risen by 3.7% and net sales have increased by 16.4%. This means that the company's carbon intensity has fallen by 10.9%.
