According to a recent survey by the Carbon Trust, 86% of consumers want their favourite brands to reduce their carbon footprint; almost half (43%) are actively seeking information about the carbon impact of the products they buy and more than half (52%) would be more loyal to a brand if they could see at a glance they were taking steps to reduce their footprint.
This is curious considering that, according to another survey by IPSOS Mori, the number of people in the UK who think that climate change is "definitely" a reality has dropped to from 44% to 31%. See here for coverage in The Guardian.
