This issue of "Green Growth the Nordic Way”, a web magazine from the Nordic Council of Ministers, discusses the topic of circular economy and the work of the Council within the areas of waste management and sustainable building.
The ‘circular economy’ was the theme of EU’s biggest event in the environment sector, Green Week in Brussels, which took place in the beginning of June. The Nordic Council of Ministers has released a number of new reports that also explore the “Nordic potential” in this field. Read for example the article “Circular Economy – the way forward” and the article “Culture – the fourth pillar of sustainability”, describing the importance of cultural affairs to strengthen the sustainability agenda. In this last article, the council argues that transformation towards a sustainable society requires not only technological progress and innovative solutions, but also a strong cultural sector that inspires change in consumption and production.
