Business action on climate change - Where next after emissions trading? This report reviews the incentives that have been put in place to encourage business and industry to reduce their emissions of carbon dioxide including the emissions trading scheme, the climate change levy and agreement and the renewables obligation.
The Green Alliance and the Institute for European Environmental Policy have jointly published this report which concludes that despite strong Government messages on climate change, there is currently little link between the messages and the policies that have been introduced and that the EU emissions trading scheme will not be strong enough to persuade business to reduce emissions.
The report puts forward recommendations for a strengthened package of policies to encourage business action.
