We are seeking a passionate and experienced Living Income Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead our initiatives aimed at ensuring fair wages and living incomes for workers and farmers in the food supply chain. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing projects that promote equitable pay practices and enhance the livelihoods of agricultural communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects focused on living incomes and transparent supply chains. Ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and achievement of project goals. Designs projects and methodology to implement living income strategies;
- Research & Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on living income and wage issues. Analyse data to identify gaps and opportunities for intervention;
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including businesses, NGOs, government agencies, and local communities, to advocate for fair wage practices and implement effective solutions;
- Advocacy & Communication: Together with our communications department, develop and execute advocacy strategies to raise awareness about living income and wage issues. Represent Fairfood International at conferences, workshops, and in the media;
- Reporting & Documentation: Together with our communications department, prepare comprehensive reports, case studies, and presentations to communicate project outcomes and impact. Maintain detailed project documentation;
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to project team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the fields of fair trade, labour rights, or international development.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of living income and wage concepts, data analysis, supply chain economics, supply chain dynamics, and labor rights issues. Familiarity with global food industry standards and practices.
- Skills: Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent in statistics and data analysis. Loves Excel.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Excellent communication and advocacy abilities is a (big) plus.
- Personal Attributes: Passionate about social justice and sustainability. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple priorities.
