The Global Calculator is an open-source interactive tool allows you to explore all the options we have to reduce emissions through changing our technologies, fuels, land use and lifestyles up to the year 2050. It is funded by the UK Government’s International Climate Fund and the EU’s Climate-KIC, and has been built by an international team.
It aims to be the world’s most open-source model of global energy, land and food systems – and the team behind the tool is now seeking experts to comment on the tool and help improve it. A call for evidence is therefore being held to gather feedback on the model’s methodology and assumptions. Experts in energy modelling, transport, manufacturing, agriculture, building efficiency and climate science are invited to respond. The closing date for responses is 29 August. The tool will then be improved and relaunched in December this year.
