About the Organization
The Green Economy Institute (GEI) is Poland’s leading independent think tank dedicated to developing comprehensive climate policy solutions that integrate social, economic, and political perspectives. Led by former Minister of the Environment Marcin Korolec, GEI engages with a broad spectrum of political stakeholders through evidence-based research and advocacy. Since late 2023, GEI has expanded its scope to include agri-food systems. This program aims to address critical challenges in transforming Poland’s agricultural sector to support its transition toward sustainability. Our focus areas include CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) reform, as well as climate and food systems policies. We bring a unique blend of policy expertise and political insight, while emphasizing social dimensions of transformation. Furthermore, collaborating with a network of international think tanks, we contribute to agricultural and food systems debates also at the EU level.

About the role
An Agriculture and Food Systems Analyst will support GEI’s research and stakeholder engagement activities aimed at shaping a more sustainable food system in Poland. The role involves both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the biophysical dynamics of Poland’s food system, assessing the potential for mitigation and adaptation measures, and formulating evidence-based policy recommendations.

Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for preparing publications that summarize key research findings and presenting them to relevant stakeholders. Building and maintaining strong relationships with policymakers, field experts, as well as national and international partner organizations will also form an important part of the analyst’s work.

The successful candidate will have a strong analytical background, preferably in agronomics, economics, agriculture, or political studies, with at least three years of experience in research and data analysis related to agriculture and food systems. They should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in Polish and English, proficiency in quantitative research methods, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
