Three approaches for sustainable agriculture and their relationship with nature: a view from Colombia
In early 2024, the MESA team held a workshop in Colombia. The discussion in the room framed the main similarities and differences in relation to nature for each of three agricultural approaches: organic agriculture, agroecology and regenerative agriculture. Camilo Ardila Galvis joined TABLE in December 2023 as part of the team at the University of the Andes (School of Government) in Colombia. He holds a BA in Economics, MA in Development Studies and MSc in Agroecology. This essay is also available in Spanish.

Exploring the ebbs and flows of Regenerative Agriculture, Organic and Agroecology
The regenerative, organic and agroecology movements share many concerns, and offer seemingly similar solutions. We, at TABLE, therefore began to ask ourselves if they are perhaps repeated attempts to articulate the same things, or whether there are substantive differences. Dr George Cusworth (U Oxford) and Rachel Carlile (U Edinburgh) worked with graphic designer Emily Liang (WUR) to develop a diagram articulating these agricultural movements' similarities and differences.

Sustainability standards in global agrifood supply chains
This paper reviews the effects of voluntary sustainability standards - such as Fairtrade, organic and Rainforest Alliance - in the food supply chain, discussing several different crops. It argues that while standards can improve production sustainability in some circumstances, they are not alone sufficient to make the whole food system sustainable.
