Organiser's description (via The Mills Fabrica):
Food is one of the most powerful levers for improving both human health and environmental sustainability. Feeding the world is a monumental challenge with far-reaching implications for both people and planet.
The Mills Fabrica's innovation gallery, Fabrica X, proudly presents its inaugural agrifood exhibition, “Taste of Tomorrow: What will we be eating in 2050?”. The exhibition highlights the essential role innovation plays in catalysing a shift away from traditional food production methods and towards a system that safeguards our planet’s resilience and fosters a healthier, more sustainable society.
The exhibition showcases 12 groundbreaking innovations across two key themes: Innovation in Agriculture and Next-Generation Food. Collectively, these innovations tackle the agrifood industry’s greatest ecological challenges, driving positive planetary impact such as:
- Regenerating soils
- Enhancing climate change resilience in agricultural crops
- Advancing the productivity of staple crops
- Reducing and mitigating ecological harm
- Elevating nutrition and gastronomic experiences
From supercharging crop evolution with AI to crafting cocoa-free chocolate and creating protein from CO2 emissions, “Taste of Tomorrow” invites you to explore the intertwined processes of agriculture and laboratory innovation. Tracing the path from origin to table, the exhibition underscores the potential for positive impact every ingredient has on its journey to our plates.
