Meat analogues: Considerations for the EU

This report from the UK think-tank Chatham House explores the challenges of scaling up production and consumption of realistic plant-based meat replacements and laboratory-grown meat, both of which are intended to be indistinguishable from meat.

Former FCRN volunteer Isadora Fernandes Ferreira contributed to the report.

The report finds that although investment in meat analogues is increasing, the future of the sector depends on public acceptance, support from civil society, the response from existing industries, and the choices of policymakers regarding issues such as labelling, marketing and regulation of meat analogues.
