Food Production and GHGs: Climate impact of different products

This report by Ulf Sonesson, Jennifer Davis, Friederike Ziegler, discusses the impacts of fisheries and aquaculture on the climate on pages 10 and 11, concluding that the main driver for the carbon footprint of capture fisheries is on board diesel use, with leakage from refrigerants second.

The report identifies opportunities to reduce CO2 emissions through switching gear use and states that over-exploited fish stocks can not easily be harvested in a fuel efficient way.
