Selection of online courses on the food system from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Food

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Food is an organisation seeking to aid development of a more sustainable, healthy and trusted food system. They are currently offering a selection of free, year-round courses on food and the food system. These courses are suitable for students and individuals looking to learn more about the food system. Some courses include: 

Farm to Fork: Sustainable Food Production in a Changing Environment where the lifecycle of food is explored, emphasising discussions on food security, food production and agriculture. This course runs for 4 weeks and requires a time commitment of 3 hours a week. Farm to Fork was developed in collaboration with the Queen's University Belfast and the University of Turin. Another course being offered is Explore How Farmers Produce Food Sustainably which examines the social and environmental challenges faced by farmers in producing sustainable foods. This course will examine a variety of farming systems including horticulture, arable farming, meat, dairy, and egg production. Explore How Farmers Produce Food Sustainably runs for 3 weeks and requires a time commitment of 3 hours a week. It was developed in collaboration with the University of Reading. Read more here.
