Multiple PhD and paid MSc positions: Biodiversity Resilience Network, University of Guelph, Guelph, Canada

Funding has been made available for PhD and MSc positions for individuals studying ecology, evolution, physiology, climate change and biomathematics. PhD and MSc positions will be within the Biodiversity Resilience Network (BiRN). BiRM is a research group situated in the University of Guelph, examining the effects of climate change at all levels of ecosystem organization. The main areas of study for available positions include:

(i) Diversity-function relationships and farm-based ecosystem services, with emphasis on soil, insect, or plant dynamics. 

(ii) Synergistic effects of climate variation, pesticide toxicity and nutrient dynamics on productivity and food web interactions in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems

(iii) Big data analysis of global to local drivers of diversity and function.

(iv) Ecological buffering mechanisms to climatic variability.

(v) Interactions between ecological and socio-economic systems.
