The subject includes digitisation with a focus on the application of automation, robotics or mechatronics to achieve resource-efficient and sustainable agriculture.
The professor is expected to lead a research group within the area of employment and
- develop and lead an internationally successful and externally funded research program
- develop and lead teaching at undergraduate, advanced and postgraduate level
- participate in postgraduate education and supervise doctoral students
- be able to teach Swedish at bachelor's level within four years; the department will support the successful candidate to help achieve this objective
- develop and maintain national and international networks with academia, industry, and society in general
- contribute to the strategic development of the department and the faculty
- collaborate within the department and with other departments within and outside SLU
- disseminate research results and other relevant subject information to the surrounding society
- seek external research funding at both national and international level
In addition to teaching in the digitalisation of agriculture, teaching in related subjects at undergraduate level may also take place. Administrative tasks are included, which includes budget and personnel responsibilities.
The successful candidate shall
- have a doctoral degree and have associate professor competence or equivalent scientific competence
- be scientifically skilled in the subject of digitalization with focus on the application of automation, robotics or mechatronics
- have demonstrated the ability to obtain external research funding in competition
- be pedagogically skilled
- be able to integrate research and a scientific approach in the pedagogical work
- have a good knowledge of English
