The Centre for Food Policy at City, University of London is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow (maternity cover) for one year to work within the NIHR Obesity Policy Research Unit (OPRU). The post holder will lead, project manage, and conduct policy-oriented research projects related to child obesity working with Professor Corinna Hawkes while line-managing two Research Assistants.

The main duties of the post holder will be to take a lead role in implementing and managing the elements of the OPRU research projects involving qualitative research and policy analysis with a focus on addressing inequities in obesity through improving diets and food systems. The post-holder will be prepared to take a high degree of responsibility for the work, while also collaborating with the project research assistants.

The Centre is seeking a candidate with a PhD on a topic relevant to public health. Strong methodological, project management and writing skills are essential. Demonstrable skills in qualitative research techniques are required and experience of policy analysis desirable. Experience of methods to co-create policy solutions with participants and engagement with policymakers a plus.
